Project Details
Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) and India’s Ministry of Defence Production are implementing the modernisation of the Goa Shipyard. The efforts are in order to fulfil their vision of a contemporary shipyard and will include the addition of a new integrated steel fabrication facility as part of the four-phase project to bring the shipyard up to date.
The Denso™ Petrolatum Tape system was chosen to protect 2.1km of pipes running around the periphery of the yard. The pipework, largely consisting of 150 and 250mm diameter pipes, were wrapped in situ and under demanding time pressures.
The finished pipes are now protected from the marine environment and will provide long term corrosion prevention for the shipyard’s exciting future ahead.

Whilst most of the pipework for the project was 150/250mm in diameter, some larger pipes were also protected, as it can be seen here
